The Phillies starting rotation took a tough break today. Chad Billingsley, after rehabbing to get back to the big leagues for the first time since 2013, will head to the disabled list after three starts with the Phillies.
Following today's game, RHP Chad Billingsley was placed on the 15-day DL with a right shoulder strain.

Billingsley, who signed a one-year deal with this offseason, was 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA for the Phillies so far this season. After surrendering 10 earned runs over his first two starts, his most recent outing against the D'Backs was strong. Billingsley tossed six innings of two-run ball, scattering seven hits, walking one and striking out two.
Hector Neris, who is 1-3 with a 5.94 ERA with the Ironpigs, will join the Phillies in Colorado tomorrow. He allowed three hits, struck out two and had one walk in 2 2/3 innings in two games for the Phillies this season.
Billingsley's turn in the rotation comes on Wednesday. David Buchanan is hurt, so Severino Gonzalez, who would be on his fifth day, is an option for the Phils on Wednesday. The team is still at 39 players on the 40-man roster, so they could add someone else before then as well.
