In a not-surprising, but "I hoped wouldn't be the case" move, Placido Polanco will be out for the All-Star game, presumably due to his back injury.
Andrew Baggardly broke the news that Pablo Sandoval would be going in Polanco's place:
However, almost at the same time an NBC report says that Aramis Ramirez will make the team. Either way, looks like Polly's out.
