With another minor league affiliate eliminated from the playoffs, the Philadelphia Phillies called up two more players on Sunday morning to add to their roster. Top prospect Jorge Alfaro and Roman Quinn will don red pinstripes and get to soak in the Major League atmosphere for the remainder of the season.

The Double-A Reading Fightin' Phils went into the  playoffs with the best record in the Eastern League, but they were eliminated on Saturday night after losing to Trenton 3-2 and falling in the best-of-five series, 3-1. There's no doubting that despite their early playoff exit, this season was a great one for Reading with sluggers Dylan Cozens and Rhys Hoskins leading the way.

Jorge Alfaro played in 97 games this season after being limited to 57 games last year with an ankle injury. The 23-year-old backstop put together a strong campaign in Double-A, hitting .285 in the regular season with 21 doubles, two triples, 15 homers, 67 RBIs and 68 runs scored. Alfaro threw out 26 percent of base stealers as well. He joins Alec Asher, Jerad Eickhoff and Jake Thompson as members of last year's Cole Hamels to make it to the Major League roster. Alfaro hit 5-for-12 with two homers, three runs scored and four RBIs.

Roman Quinn's call to the majors has been a long time coming. The speedy outfield prospect has been injury-prone since being drafted in 2011, unable to play more than 88 games in a season. This year, he missed the better part of a month with an oblique strain, but came back and didn't skip a beat at the plate. Overall this season with Reading, Quinn hit .287 with 14 doubles, six triples, six homers, 25 RBIs, 58 runs scored and 36 steals. In the first round of the playoffs, Quinn went 4-for-12 with three runs scored and two RBIs.
