The Phillies are promoting one of their Top 10 prospects, moving third baseman Maikel Franco from High Class-A Clearwater up to Double-A Reading.
Franco, who turns 21 at the end of August, is hitting .299/.349/.576
with a Florida State League (it's a pitcher friendly league) leading 16 home runs and 52 RBI. He also
leads the FSL with 23 doubles and is tied with Twins third baseman Miguel Sano for the league lead in home runs with 16. Over his last 10 games for Clearwater,
Franco is hitting .395/.730/1.125 with five home runs and 10 RBI.
You all better head to a Reading Fightin's game because Franco is a must see prospect in the Phillies farm system.
