The Phillies only made a few moves this offseason, but the moves that they have made so far are paying dividends in the minor leagues. While the Phillies big league club has struggled along, Phillies prospects AA Reading has played quite well. After a strong week, one of them has earned himself Eastern League honors.
According to Chris Michael of RCN-TV:
#Phillies Ben Lively (2-0, 16Ks, 2.08 ERA) is Eastern League Pitcher of the Week (acq. in the Marlon Byrd trade), 2nd Reading P to win honor

Lively is part of a dynamic Reading Fightin' Phils rotation that includes prospects Aaron Nola, Tom Windle, Zach Eflin, and Jesse Biddle.
Marlon Byrd, meanwhile, has not fared so well for the Reds. Byrd is hitting just .181 with three home runs and nine RBI. Byrd sat on Sunday in favor of utility player Skip Schumacher as the Reds were desperate for offense.
