The Double-A Eastern league has named Phillies outfield prospect Dylan Cozens the Player of the Month for May. In 30 games, the 22-year-old slugger hit .289 with 10 doubles, nine homers, 26 RBI's and 23 runs scored.

Cozens leads the Double-A Eastern League in slugging percentage (.569), runs scored (44), total bases (123) and extra-base hits (33), is tied for the league lead in doubles (18), ranks second in RBIs (45) and third in hits (60). While he strikes out a good bit, 69 times to be exact, Cozens is only three walks away from tying his total number from last season, 29, showing some improvement when it comes to plate discipline.

While his power hitting is very intriguing, it isn't his only attribute. For a guy who is 6-foot-6 and weighs upwards of 235 pounds, Cozens moves very well in the outfield and has a plus arm as well. He showed off his cannon during the Phillies Futures Game at Citizens Bank Park, gunning down a runner at the plate to save a run. Cozens also holds his own on the basepaths with 10 steals this season.

Cozens, a native of Scottsdale, AZ, was a second round pick of the Phillies back in 2012. This season with Double-A Reading, he's slashing .278/.352/.569 with 18 doubles, 15 homers and 45 RBI's.
