Zach Eflin had successful surgery on his right knee after being placed on the disabled list with patellar tendinopathy on August 6th. Eflin, 22, made his big league debut on June 14 in Toronto and struggled, but posted a 2.08 ERA over his next seven starts, which included two complete games. Acquired in the trade that sent Jimmy Rollins to the Dodgers at the end of 2014, Eflin had a trio of rough outings before going on the DL, allowing 20 runs in his last 13 innings of work. In that time, his ERA jumped from 3.40 to 5.54.
