Earlier today some astute observers noted that the Phillies' website listed a November 2 transcation that stated that Phillies starter A.J. Burnett "elected free agency":

However, a look at the site right now shows that they have removed the transaction:
Matt Lombardo of NJ.com noticed that Burnett had been removed from the Phillies roster. Christopher Smith also grabbed a picture of that:
However, Burnett's name has been restored:
The Phillies made no official announcement on Burnett, other than to include him on their transcations page. Maybe a staff member jumped the gun, or misunderstood that the November 1 transaction in which both the team and player declined a $15 million mutual option did not mean that Burnett was a free agent. So, we wait for word whether or not Burnett exercised a $12.75 million player option for 2015.
