Phillies Remove A.J. Burnett Transaction On Website, Restore Him To Roster

AJ

Earlier today some astute observers noted that the Phillies' website listed a November 2 transcation that stated that Phillies starter A.J. Burnett "elected free agency":

However, a look at the site right now shows that they have removed the transaction:

Matt Lombardo of NJ.com noticed that Burnett had been removed from the Phillies roster.  Christopher Smith also grabbed a picture of that:

However, Burnett's name has been restored:

The Phillies made no official announcement on Burnett, other than to include him on their transcations page.  Maybe a staff member jumped the gun, or misunderstood that the November 1 transaction in which both the team and player declined a $15 million mutual option did not mean that Burnett was a free agent.   So, we wait for word whether or not Burnett exercised a $12.75 million player option for 2015.
