The Phillies are thin with outfield depth, as we saw with the early call-up of Aaron Altherr when Tony Gwynn Jr. hit the bereavement list. Darin Ruf is injured, Ben Revere is sore, Tony Gwynn Jr. is away, and there are few options. So, one might expect the Phillies could be looking for help.
That help could be found in outfielder Grady Sizemore, designated for assignment by the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday.
heard phillies are a team that's reached out to grady sizemore. but there are others, as well. seems like a low-risk play.

Sizemore batted .216 in his Red Sox tenure.
The Phillies have been linked to Sizemore in the past. It's unclear how they would manage yet another left-handed outfielder, which makes me think Sizemore will end up somewhere else. Once All Star-calibur, Sizemore has been hobbled by repeated injury.j
