With under seven hours to go until the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, the main question is who will the Phillies take first overall? AJ PukKyle Lewis, Jason Groome and Mickey Moniak are a few options for the team, but they will also pick first in the second round tonight, 42nd overall. According to Frankie Piliere of D1 Baseball, the Phils are targeting high school outfielder/firstbaseman Walker Robbins with that pick.

Robbins has already signed to play with Mississippi State, but will wait to see what happens in the draft before making a final decision.

Robbins, 18, just graduated from George County High School in Lucedale, MS after putting together an impressive senior season that saw him hit .471 (42-for-88) with nine doubles, a triple, three homers, 18 runs scored and 16 RBI's. Over his high school career, beginning in 2011-12 in eighth grade, Robbins played in 127 games and hit .351 with a .445 on-base percentage.

In addition to playing the outfield and first base, Robbins also posted a 21-6 record to go along with a 1.41 ERA as a pitcher at George County. The 18-year-old hurled a perfect game in his final year, where he went a combined 8-2 with a 0.67 ERA, leading his team to the Class 6A Finals. MLB.com lists Robbins as the 93rd best prospect in the draft. Here is their scouting report:

The Rebels' latest is Robbins' brother Walker, who also has two-way talent but almost certainly will get drafted as a position player. He led George County to Mississsippi state 6-A runner-up finishes in each of the last two seasons and was the coaches association's choice as the state 6-A player of the year in 2016.

Robbins is an advanced high school hitter with a compact left-handed swing and an all-fields approach. His line-drive stroke isn't conducive to present power, but he has the bat speed and strength for at least average power once he lifts and turns on pitches more often.

Robbins moves well for his size and is an asset defensively at first base. He has a better arm than most players at his position and can reach the low 90s with his fastball when he pitches. A left-hander, he also has a pair of promising secondary pitches and will pull double duty for Mississippi State if he makes it to college.

Although he excelled on the mound, both Baseball America and MLB.com have Robbins listed as a first baseman. According to the Clarion Ledger, the St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres and the Milwaukee Brewers have been in contact with Robbins leading up to the draft. He traveled to Houston and worked out with the Astros on Monday.
