Phillies seek series split in first-half finale against Rockies

DENVER — The Philadephia Phillies' (41-48) 90th game of the regular season Sunday afternoon will be their last before the 87th Major League Baseball All-Star Game at Petco Park in San Diego, California.

Phillies rookie RHP Zach Eflin — who is coming off of his first Major League victory via a complete game performance against the Atlanta Braves 0n Tuesday — will oppose Colorado Rockies (40-47) RHP Tyler Chatwood, who is 2-0 with a 2.12 ERA in three career starts against the Phillies.

Ahead of the series finale, the Phillies announced that they have activated LHP Daniel Stumpf from the restricted list, designated LHP Mario Hollands for assignment and optioned RHP Severino Gonzalez to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Stumpf's return marks the end of his 80-game suspension issued on April 14 for taking dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, an oral anabolic steroid.

  • Phillies center fielder Odubel Herrera is hitless in his last 11 at-bats with four strikeouts. After fouling a ball off his foot on Friday, Herrera received an off-day from manager Pete Mackanin during last night's 8-3 defeat, his first missed game of the season.
