Looks a little empty, doesn't it? The park is currently holding 41,665 fans. The Phillies had sold out 257 consecutive games, the second longest in the majors (Fenway Park has been sold out for 773 straight games) before it all came to a halt tonight. Counting the postseason, the streak went to 273 games. Sellouts count for tickets sold, not fans who show up. It may have looked empty at times the past couple of seasons, but the fans were still buying their tickets to see their Philadelphia Phillies.

With the streak ending in the midst of a rebuilding season, one can't help but wonder if the fans will continue to stay away until the Phils start winning consistently again. Cut them some slack– they're not in last place!

It was great while it lasted, but all good things must come to an end. I mean that as the sellouts, and the way the Phillies were playing for the past few years. Let's hope they can keep pushing and get back to the postseason once again!
