The Phillies have announced the signing of pitcher Chad Gaudin to a minor league contract with a spring training invite. My guess is the starter/reliever has a pretty good shot at making the club. With a shaky rotation and bullpen, Gaudin could provide a nice insurance policy for both. In ten years, Gaudin is fairly well traveled producing mixed results along the way. He had a pretty nice stint in San Francisco last season appearing in 30 games (12 starts) and pitching to a 3.06 ERA. He'll have to make the club but I think he has a pretty good shot. For the record, I thought Dontrelle Willis had a good shot in '12.
