Phillies Slam Tampa Bay Rays; Domonic Brown, Freddy Galvis Lead The Way

FreddyLF

Strong offensive performances from Freddy Galvis and Domonic Brown today led the Phillies to a 10-1 victory of the Tampa Bay Rays in Clearwater.  Brown continues to bat like an All-Star and new outfielder Galvis hit like an outfielder to give the Phillies a win.

Brown just continues to rake Grapefruit League pitching.  The Phillies once-megaprospect went 3 for 4 today as the Phillies scored 10 runs against the Tampa Bay Rays.   First baseman Ryan Howard and Galvis each contributed two hits.   Galvis and Kevin Frandsen each drove in three runs, while Brown, Humberto Quintero, and Pete Orr each drove in a run.

The Phillies pitching was a bullpen game.   First to pitch was Raul Valdes, who made a good impression for his prospects for a long-man spot in the Phillies bullpen.  He gave up the one run of the day from Phillies pitching in three innings.

Michael Stutes followed for an inning.  Once again Stutes showed that some of his command was off a bit and walked one batter.  This makes him a candidate to start the season at Lehigh Valley.

Jeremy Horst had another solid outing, pitching two innings to earn the win.   Antonio Bastardo and Jonathan Papelbon both had strong scoreless outings.  From rookie camp Steven Inch got one out and Colby Shreve pitched an inning as well.
