Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick received some good news from the doctors tonight. According to Jim Salisbury of CSN Philly, Kendrick has been diagnosed with shoulder tendonitis after receiving an MRI today. Salisbury reports that Kendrick will receive a second opinion tomorrow in New York.
Kendrick has struggled in September, and his shoulder issue certainly could have contributed to his lack of success in recent starts. Kendrick has never been on the disabled list. As the Phillies evaluate whether or not to offer Kendrick a contract for 2014, a start or two in the final couple weeks could help the Phillies decide. Some reports believe Kendrick could earn as much as $8 million next season through salary arbitration.
