Prior to this afternoon's non-waiver trade deadline, Philadelphia Phillies general manager Matt Klentak completed one more trade.
The team agreed to send veteran reliever Joaquin Benoit and cash considerations to the Pittsburgh Pirates for minor league pitcher Seth McGarry:

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports was the first to break this story.
In 31 games for the High-A Bradenton Marauders, the 23-year-old McGarry had 14 saves and a 1.34 ERA. McGarry, who went to Florida Atlantic, was an eighth-round pick in 2015.
A season ago, a disastrous month of June plagued Benoit's time with the Seattle Mariners, leaving him with a 5.18 ERA in 26 appearances. The Toronto Blue Jays bought low on the veteran, and got a gigantic payoff, as he posted a 0.38 ERA in 25 regular season games, helping the Blue Jays to reach the playoffs. The Phillies may end up being in a similar situation this year to what the Mariners were a year ago.
While Benoit was far from a disaster in his time with the Phillies, he failed to provide the stabilizing veteran presence that the team desperately needed. In 44 games, Benoit posted a 4.07 ERA, with a 3.79 FIP to match.
Benoit was one of four trades that Klentak made prior to the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline. All-Star reliever Pat Neshek was traded to the Colorado Rockies last Wednesday. Howie Kendrick was traded to the Washington Nationals last Friday, within the same hour that the team also sent RHP Jeremy Hellickson to the Baltimore Orioles.
