Rodriguez, 25, was acquired by the Phillies on December 10, 2014, from the Pittsburgh Pirates for Antonio Bastardo. After posting an impressive 2.73 ERA in 12 appearances last season, Rodriguez entered 2017 as the lone left-hander in the bullpen and he struggled to get both lefties and righties out at the plate.
In 27 innings this season for the Phils, Rodriguez allowed 19 earned runs on 37 hits, good for an ERA of 6.33. He walked 15 and struck out 18.
