The Philadelphia Phillies are at the maximum on their 40-man roster, most recently adding reliever Joaquin Benoit and designating Michael Mariot for assignment. With the team at the roster limit, it is likely they don't select anyone in this week's Rule 5 Draft.
Not a surprise, but Phillies unlikely to take a player in Thursday's Rule 5 Draft. They're currently at 40 for 40-man roster.

The Phillies added 11 players to their 40-man roster back in mid-November including prospects Dylan Cozens, Andrew Knapp, Ben Lively, Ricardo Pinto, Nick Pivetta and Nick Pivetta, protecting each from the Rule 5 Draft on Thursday.
Philadelphia selected Tyler Goeddel in last year's draft and Odubel Herrera in 2015. While Goeddel didn't have much success at the big league level, Herrera has developed into an everyday center fielder for the Phillies. At the winter meetings this week, there is belief that the Phils might be willing to part ways with Herrera, but it would take a strong package for Matt Klentak to make a move. In 2004, the Phillies picked Shane Victorino in the Rule-5 Draft and he became a big part of the teams' championship run in 2008.
