While it's anyone's guess as to what Tim Tebow's attempt to play Major League Baseball will produce, the Philadelphia Phillies won't leave any stone unturned, according to MLB.com's Todd Zolecki:
Do not expect another round of Tebowmania in Philadelphia.
But, the Phillies will have a scout at former college football star Tim Tebow's workout Aug. 30 in Los Angeles.
In a strange way, it feels less frightening that the Phillies will watch Tebow's workout than it did when the Eagles were first connected to the former Heisman Trophy winner.
All jokes aside, the Phillies really have nothing to lose by scouting Tebow. In all likelihood, they have little to gain, but according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, 'more than 20' other teams also feel they have nothing to lose and will be at next Tuesday's workout.
Earlier this month, when Schefter first reported that Tebow was pursuing a baseball career, the Phillies Double A affiliate, the Reading Fightin' Phils, trolled Tebow on social media:
Sorry @TimTebow, we won't need your services. We've already got the best record in baseball. #Fightins pic.twitter.com/wedL5Auu9l

Given that he's 29, if the Phillies were to shock the baseball world and sign Tebow to a contract, one would think that Tebow would either start out in or eventually play for Reading, which would garner quite a few hindsight retweets of what appeared to be a funny joke at the time.
