Phillies win in Walk Off, Bullpen Implodes

Phillies bats woke up this afternoon and gave Pettibone a 6
run lead before leaving with a hurt back. Ryan Howard hit two homers and
Michael Young hit one. The bullpen nearly gave that lead up when they allowed 4
runs in the 7th inning.

Jon Pettibone pitched 6 innings, had 5 its, 1 run, 1 walk,
and 1 strike out. He left the game before the 7th because of tightness
in his back, and Stutes relieved him. He allowed 1 hit and 4 runs, along with 2
walks. De Fratus and Diekman came in to get out of the 7th inning.
Bastardo came in to start the 8th inning and pitched well. Papelbon
gave up a 1 out homerun to make it a 1 run game, then gave up the tying run. 

Howard singled on a line drive to center in the bottom of
the 1st to bring home Chase Utley and Michael Young, 2-0, Phillies.

Mets make the score 2-1 after Valdespin grounded into a
force out, bringing home Quintanilla.

Ryan Howard homered on a line drive to left center, and Ben
Revere singled to right to bring home Domonic Brown. 4-1, Phillies in the 4th.

Michael young and Ryan Howard hit back to back homers in the
bottom of the 5th, 6-1, Phillies.

In the 6th, Revere stole 3rd, and John
Buck overthrew the ball to third. Revere made it home, 7-1, Phillies.

The 7th inning is when the bullpen collapsed. Quintanilla
was able to single on a line drive, Buck scores. 7-2, Phillies. After a Satin
walk, Young doubled, bringing home Nieuwenhuis and Quintanilla home  7-4, Phillies.. Valdespin grounds out to
Rollins, Satin scores.  7-5, Phillies.

Papelbon gave up anther homer in the top of the 9th
to Valdespin, and Wright was able to score on a disaster play by the outfield.
Tie game.

Kevin Frandsen became a hero for the day when he hit a
pinch-hit walk-off homerun. Phils win, 8-7.

A win is nice, but for the sanity of Phillies fans, can we
not make this the new normal?
