Pitching Coach Carl Willis Interviews with the Phillies

Per Geoff Baker of The Seattle Times, the Phillies interviewed pitching coach Carl Willis on Friday. It hasn't been the easiest hole for the Phillies to fill since they decided to part ways with Rich Dubee. Pete Vuckovich, Roger McDowell, and Jim Benedict have all passed on the home team so far and despite Leo Mazzone's efforts to land an interview via Twitter, it's been a bit quiet on that front lately.

Willis has been with Seattle for the last four seasons under Eric Wedge. Prior to that he was Cleveland's pitching coach where he was on staff for Cliff Lee's 2008 Cy Young campaign. C.C. Sabathia (2007) and Felix Hernandez (2010) also won under the watch of Willis.  It is yet to be known if Willis will return to Seattle under their new manager Lloyd McClendon so the Phillies are definitely a possibility for the veteran.
