The Phillies are open for shop (supposedly) and a couple of the team's veterans have been getting some interest around the league. The Phillies need space for young outfielders Odubel Herrera and Cody Asche. Aaron Altherr is also at AAA and could be worthy of a look soon. But, the Phillies must clear space to do so. The Pittsburgh Pirates are interested in helping them do just that.
Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune reports:
#pirates have spoken to #phillies about Jeff Francouer and Ben Revere. The latter would be good leadoff option while Harrison is on DL.

Of course, Josh Harrison is the team's third baseman. Where would these outfielders play?
Biertempfel responded to a question by a reader that it would be right fielder Gregory Polanco who would lose his spot to play Revere. Polanco came up last season full of promise and expectations, but has struggled in his sophomore season. Polanco is hitting just .231.
Ben Revere had two hits Sunday to bring his season average up to .297. Francoeur has been a valuable bench piece, providing a strong arm in right field (though we all remember Francoeur's challenging play a couple weeks ago). Francoeur is batting .245.
