When Hector Luna was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh after yesterday's 8-0 win over the Brewers, we all knew that Placido Polanco would be back with the team tonight.
Today it was reported that Placido Polanco was activated from the DL after nearly a month's time spent with lower back inflammation. Polly will start third for the Phillies tonight in their home opener against the Reds and will hit seventh in the lineup.
Polanco has been out of the lineup since July 27 with lower back inflammation. In 82 games this season, Polly is hitting .255 with 2 HR and 19 RBI. Polanco's fill-in, Kevin Frandsen is hitting .329 with 1 HR and 6 RBI in 20 games this season.
Hector Luna, who was brought up a couple weeks ago, hit .059 (1 for 17) in his last ten games.
