Player and Play of the Week: February 23-March 1
Another week of Flyers hockey down and once again it's time for us to give out our Player and Play of the Week honors.
Again, it was a trying week as the Flyers suffered losses to Carolina and Toronto before pulling out a huge win over the Rangers on Saturday.
Sean Couturier is our Player of the Week. Couturier had two assists in the win over the Rangers and was a plus-3 in the Flyers three games this week.
Our Play of the Week honor goes to Steve Mason for his seven-save sequence on the Rangers in Saturday's win. Mason made the initial save on a long shot by Dan Boyle and stops the rebound chance by Mats Zuccarello. He then stopped a high shot by Zuccarello and robbed Rick Nash twice in close. He was finally able to cover the puck after making two more saves on John Moore.
The Flyers host the Calgary Flames on Tuesday and the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday before a crucial game on the road against the Boston Bruins on Saturday and another road game against the New Jersey Devils on Sunday.
