It was a short week for the Flyers, who paused for the All-Star break after a pair of games on Monday and Tuesday.
As the Flyers hit the All-Star break, it was a no-brainer who we should pick for this week's Players of the Week.
We're splitting the honor this week for the two Flyers All-Stars, Claude Giroux and Jake Voracek. Giroux and Voracek are on opposing sides later this afternoon in Columbus at the All-Star Game.
Giroux and Voracek also turned in solid weeks. Giroux scored in both games this week and Voracek had three assists in the two games.
Our Play of the Week goes to Giroux as well. In what was an emotion game against the rival Penguins, Giroux was in the right place at the right time in overtime to score the game-winning, power-play goal with 1:03 remaining to give the Flyers a 3-2 win. Video of the goal can be seen below.
The Flyers will return to the ice on Tuesday when they host the Arizona Coyotes. They also host games on Thursday against the Winnipeg Jets and Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
