It was a week that started off slow and ended with a few points in the standings, and finally a victory. But there was one main reason the Flyers were able to compete in three of the four games they had this week.
It's time once again to select our Player and Play of the Week.
Our Player of the Week is Michal Neuvirth. For the second time this season, Neuvirth is selected, and honestly, how can you not. Despite losing in Edmonton, he made 45 saves, keeping the Flyers in the game until the very end. He was also very good in Calgary, helping the Flyers reach overtime. Finally, he made 28 saves on Saturday in a shutout win against Winnipeg.
Our Play of the Week goes to Claude Giroux. Though his goal was the only highlight of Monday night's game in Vancouver, it was a highlight-reel goal for sure.
The Flyers are in action three times this week, at home against the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday, hosting the Washington Capitals on Thursday and on the road against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday.
Player of the Week – Past Selections
October 12-18: Michal Neuvirth
October 19-25: Claude Giroux
October 26-November 1: Brayden Schenn
November 2-8: Michal Neuvirth
