Another successful week came to a disappointing end with the Flyers defeat on Saturday to Columbus, 4-1. But the week featured plenty of positives, as the Flyers extended the previous week's winning streak to four games.
With that, it's time once again to pick our Player and Play of the Week.
Our Player of the Week is Wayne Simmonds. Going back to last Saturday's win in New York, Simmonds carried his two-goal game there to two more goals in back-to-back games this week, scoring in both the Flyers win in Ottawa and New Jersey. Simmonds also added an assist in Ottawa to finish the week with three points in three games.
Our Play of the Week goes to Matt Read, who makes a great defensive play to strip the puck from Kyle Palmieri before skating the length of the ice in a two-on-one and finishing off an overtime game-winner against the Devils.
The Flyers are in action three times this week. They remain at home on Tuesday to face the New York Islanders before heading on the road for two tough Western Conference games against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday and the Dallas Stars on Friday.
