There were just two games for the Flyers this week, which makes it pretty easy to select our first Player of the Week for the 2015-16 season.

Our Player of the Week is Flyers goaltender Michal Neuvirth. Filling in for Steve Mason, Neuvirth made 61 saves in two shutouts against the Florida Panthers on Monday and Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday, helping the Flyers to their first two wins of the season.

Our Play of the Week goes to Neuvirth as well in what is easily his biggest save of the week. With a 1-0 lead and the Blackhawks shorthanded, Marian Hossa escaped on a breakaway. Neuvirth threw the right pad out to make the save. Moments later, the Flyers tallied their second goal of the game en route to a 3-0 win.

The Flyers are in action three times this week. They will host the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m., then travel to Boston to face the Bruins on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. The week closes when the Flyers host the New York Rangers on Saturday at 7 p.m.
