While the Eagles did not play their best football, they did manage to get the victory over the Giants. Thanks to a Malcolm Jenkins interception and a big contribution from Josh Adams, they came out on top, 25-22. Carson Wentz had a solid bounce back game coming off of the horrific showing last weekend against the Saints. Wentz would complete 20 of his 28 passing attempts for 236 yards and one touchdown. While not impressive, he did it without a turnover. He would get a big assist from his partner in the backfield, Josh Adams. Adams had a big game, ending up with 84 rushing yards and one touchdown.
Some of the other notables in the game were Zach Ertz (seven for 91 and a TD) and Corey Clement, (76 total yards from scrimmage) who finally looked like the guy from last season. The Eagles will be hoping to carry this victory over to next week as they take on Washington on Monday night in yet another key divisional match-up.
On the other hand, the Giants would start the game off fast with 19 points from the first four drives of the game. After that, they would lose all their momentum in big part to defensive adjustments and the Jenkins interception. From that point on, they would only manage three points on the board. They were led by Saquon Barkley, of course, who would account for 142 total yards and both of their touchdowns. While this wasn’t a terrible game for the Giants, the loss does hurt as they will now find themselves three games back with five to go, including a game against the Bears next week.
If this week shows us anything, the division is completely up for grabs. Their is no clear favorite and every game is huge at this point in the season. If the Eagles can get hot now, you never know what the future may hold for them.
