Somehow, the Eagles managed to go into Los Angeles and keep their playoff hopes alive. In a game that, at one point, was 30 to 13 in the Eagles favor, the Rams defense started coming up big late in the game as they would score 10 points in the fourth quarter to keep the game alive until the final play. The game would come down to a last second passing play that would fall incomplete to end the game at a score of, 30-23.
The Eagles were led by Alshon Jeffery, who caught eight passes for 160 yards. They also got a huge contribution from the running backs, who managed three touchdowns. All of this with a solid defensive performance and a mostly clean game from Nick Foles, who would again come up huge in a big game, leading the Eagles to a big upset. They will look for more success next week and another big step toward the playoffs against the Texans at home.
The Rams would struggle, and the Eagles would shut down Todd Gurley on the ground with only 48 yards rushing. They would also make life for Jared Goff miserable as they would be in his face all day as he was forced to throw the ball 54 times. It seems like teams have developed a good strategy to neutralize the Rams on both sides of the ball and this has put them in a bit of a tough situation. Despite being 11 and 3 (after tonight), they are heading into the playoffs with no momentum and heading in the wrong direction.
There are still a lot of questions surrounding the Eagles, both in the standings and on the roster, but, after tonight, it seems like the season is not quite over yet.
