If the third game of the preseason is the final test for many of the Eagles starters, then they passed with flying colors.
It started with Sam Bradford, but realistically, it was an offensive juggernaut that looks ready to tackle the regular season.
Bradford's early success set the tone for a huge first half for the Eagles, who rolled to a 39-26 win over the Packers.
Bradford wasn't the only player to show his stuff on Saturday night. Here are more observations and analysis from the Eagles big win.
Bradford was without question the offensive star. His 10-for-10 night and pinpoint passing showed off his ability to be the Eagles starter moving forward and three touchdown passes in one quarter showed the potential for big things. This was Bradford's welcoming party of sorts. You will see him again on Sept. 14 when the regular season begins.
The Eagles running game looked strong again with DeMarco Murray and Ryan Mathews splitting snaps. It's safe to say the Eagles have a strong 1-2 punch in the backfield.
It was nice to see Brent Celek get in on the scoring. He's been relatively quiet this preseason as more of a blocker than a receiver, but he's always had a knack for making things happen in the receiving game.
In a similar way, it was a nice night for Trey Burton, who made two touchdown catches and showed how he could play into the offense a little more instead of just being the third tight end and a special teams player.
Defensively, you got the best and worst of the Eagles. The best came in the first half. The Eagles looked strong. Walter Thurmond had his pick six and the Packers couldn't generate much of anything. It was nice to see Mychal Kendricks and DeMeco Ryans back on the field as well.
That said, the defense got shaky as the game went on. The Packers were able to gain maximum yardage on a lot of screen plays and there were open receivers galore once the first team players left the field.
It was a rather rough night for Eric Rowe and maybe more so E.J. Biggers. Both struggled in coverage on several snaps, but it was Biggers pass interference penalty that may be tough to overlook.
Ed Reynolds also didn't do himself any favors with some coverage flaws of his own.
This is very different for Rowe than it is Biggers and Reynolds. Rowe will make the team. Biggers and Reynolds are fighting for spots.
With cuts looming, several of these players could be dropping in the bubble ranks. They will have one more game to prove themselves but they didn't help their standing this week.
Overall, it was another great game from Chip Kelly's group, and even with a lackluster second half that saw Green Bay close what was a 25-point halftime lead down to 13, the Eagles look like a polished team, especially on the starters' end.
The regular season is just a two weeks away from Monday. As the rest of the roster takes shape, it's safe to say the starting core has been solidified.
