With seasons winding down, both across junior hockey and in Europe, several prospects may get the opportunity to begin their professional careers.
One such prospect is getting that chance with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Forward Oskar Lindblom, the Flyers fifth-round pick in 2014, has signed an amateur tryout with the Flyers and will report to Lehigh Valley. He scored eight goals and added 17 assists for 25 points in 48 games with Brynas IF in the Swedish Hockey League this season.
Lindblom is a 6'1", 192-pound winger from Gavle, Sweden. He shined in particular this season representing Sweden at the World Junior Championships, where he scored three goals and added three assists in seven games.
Regarded as a good skater and solid two-way player, Lindblom projects to be a solid depth piece for the Flyers should he reach his full potential. The 19-year-old could certainly use some games in North America at the pro level before making the leap to the NHL.
The Phantoms have nine games remaining this season, including Saturday night when they host Hartford, where Lindblom could make his pro debut. Lindblom will wear No. 28.
