With the Sixers ownership and management taking a whole new look following the resignation of Sam Hinkie, one of the big questions is the future of head coach Brett Brown. The Sixers supported Hinkie and his process, but he will not be the one to reap the benefits. Hinkie brought on Brett Brown in 2013 and the head coach, not Hinkie, has been the face of the team and its growth, or lack thereof, over the past two plus seasons. Despite Hinkie no longer being a part of the Sixers, it seems like Brett Brown's job is safe for now, according to Philly.com's Keith Pompey.

While some believe that the Sixers need a new voice at head coach, Brown inked a two-year extension with the Sixers in early December. Although Sam Hinkie will not be a presence any longer, Brown does have a good relationship with Jerry Colangelo, who endorsed the coach back in December when he signed the extension.
“I like Brett,” Colangelo said. “He coached against us with the Australian team and he was a great assistant with San Antonio. I think he’s done a heckuva job here despite the circumstances.”
“Any time you get a stamp of endorsement from a man who has experienced what he has experienced, I appreciate it,” Brown said. “I recognize entirely that soon our relationship will enter a win-loss environment, but over the past few years it’s been about development and we’re trying to grow and keep the locker room together and move forward, so to get an endorsement from Mr. Colangelo, I appreciate.” [CSNPhilly.com]
The Sixers plan to introduce Bryan Colangelo as the new general manager on Monday. Philadelphia hosts the Knicks on Friday night at 7pm.
