As the quarterback voids around the league were filled via trade and free agency it became increasingly clear that the Eagles would be holding to Nick Foles for a little longer.
Although Foles is still an Eagle after the opening blitz of the league's new year, it does not mean that there were not suitors for the defending Super Bowl MVP, as Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports:
Right around the time the Cardinals were working on the Bradford deal, which sounds like it came together quickly. https://t.co/SMxDzwqYWd

Garafolo notes the Arizona Cardinals made a call to the Eagles, but were also at the negotiating table with former Eagles' quarterback Sam Bradford. The Cardinals agreed to terms on a contract that guarantees the oft-injured Bradford $15 million for the upcoming season before they were able to pique the Eagles interest with an offer. The discussions did not reach a point to be considered "close" or serious."
In addition to Bradford, the Cardinals are also expected to sign Mike Glennon, taking one more team off of the list of teams in need of a quarterback.
If Foles does eventually get moved, it would likely not be until offseason camps start and a team experiences an injury, much like what prompted the Eagles to trade Bradford to Minnesota in 2016 for a first and fourth round pick. Even then, it is not a guarantee that Foles will be traded as the Eagles have maintained that they are interested in keeping Foles on the roster for another season.
Arizona would have been a good fit for Foles, considering that their offense features elite running back David Johnson and future fist-ballot Hall of Fame wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Foles also played his college football at the University of Arizona.
