First thought to be retained by the Eagles, according to a report on Monday, cornerback Patrick Robinson will actually be headed back to the Big Easy on a four-year deal per NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
This is a surprise: #Eagles CB Patrick Robinson, due to be a free agent in 2 hours, is expected to sign a 4-year deal with the #Saints. Back where it all began.

Robinson was drafted by the Saints in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft, and became an Eagle last year during free agency. Robinson was another corner option for the Birds that actually could be considered one of the best additions on the Eagles' defense.
He had four interceptions, 47 tackles, and a sack in 16 games this past season. He started in eight of those games. Robinson's claim to fame of the year was his pick-six of former Vikings QB Case Keenum in the NFC Championship Game, that completely changed the momentum in the Eagles' favor.
According to Rapoport, the Eagles were initially close to a deal that would keep Robinson in Midnight Green, but talks stalled after Monday. The Saints became interested and swooped in for the steal.
The details of the contract are not finalized, but will be done around 4 p.m. on Wednesday when free agency opens up.
