With the additions of Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith to the mix, the Philadelphia Eagles have had to make some tough decisions with the salary cap, notably the departure of Bennie Logan to the Chiefs. Meanwhile, Brent Celek, the longest-tenured Eagle on the team by far, is doing his part to help the teams' cap room, agreeing to take a pay cut for the upcoming season.
Eagles TE Brent Celek has taken a $1M paycut for 2017, per sources. He'll now make $3M instead of $4M.

Celek, 32, has spent his entire career with the Eagles since being selected in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Although he's not a large part of the offense anymore, having him as an extra blocker on the offensive line sometimes goes unnoticed and he plays a big part when it comes to blocking up field during a run to the outside.
The Eagles inkedCelek to a three-year, $12 million contract extension with $6 million guaranteed last year. Cornerback Ron Brooks also agreed to take a pay cut this offseason.
Last season, Celek played in all 16 games for the fourth straight season and the ninth time in his 10 years with the Eagles, tallying 14 receptions for 155 yards. Over his long tenure with the team, Celek has 385 receptions for 4,868 yards and 30 touchdowns.
