In a report from FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Arizona Diamondbacks are looking for an ace to push for a Wild Card spot or even their NL West division title.
According to Rosenthal, the D-backs are interested in two pitchers: Felix Hernandez of the Mariners and Cliff Lee of the Phillies.
Lee, meanwhile, is clearly available – and one rival executive said early Tuesday that he had received indications that the Phillies and Diamondbacks had discussed a deal involving Lee and Upton.
Those talks are uncomfirmed as of now. In Cliff Lee's contract, it says he can veto trades to 21 teams. It is unknown if the D-backs are one of those teams. According to sources, Justin Upton's contract has a no-trade clause to four teams – the Red Sox, Cubs, Indians and Yankees. Although it looks like it could be a possible fit trade, money would be the problem in that deal.
The Phillies would need to include a ton of cash to make a Lee trade work financially for the D-backs. Lee is owed at least $87.5 million from 2013 to ’15. Upton is owed $38.5 million over the same years
The Rangers were reportedly interested in Lee yesterday, but the chance of that deal happening was "less than 1%".
UPDATE: Ken Rosenthal reports that the D-backs may be on the veto list for Cliff Lee.

This morning, reports came in that the Reds were out of contention to gain outfielders Shane Victorino and Juan Pierre. According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, the Dodgers are in serious talks with the Phillies regarding Shane Victorino. It's reported that the Phillies are asking for relievers for Victorino.
