As first reported by Awful Announcing, former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb is no longer employed as an NFL analyst at Fox Sports.
According to the report, McNabb submitted his resignation.
Fox initially planned for McNabb to be an NFL on Fox game analyst this year, but he was suspended in July after he was charged with his second DUI in as many years.
McNabb was sentenced to 18 days in jail after he crashed into another vehicle at a stoplight in Gilbert, AZ. Police say McNabb's blood-alcohol level was .17 at the time of his arrest, which is more than double the legal limit.
Despite his past two arrests, the winningest quarterback in Eagles franchise history told Syracuse.com that he doesn't have issues with alcohol.
"Absolutely not," McNabb said during a visit to his former school less than a month ago. "Absolutely not. Could that have been avoided? Absolutely. I'm not running from it at all. But is there a problem? Absolutely not."
McNabb remains on leave of absence from his job at NBC Sports Radio as host of a show called "Under Center" with Mark Malone.
"I'll definitely be back (on the radio)," McNabb said. "I'll be back. There are calls that have been made right now as far as getting back. People love to hear what I have to say. Playing a position and playing a sport, opinions are valuable. I will be back by the end of this year or possibly next year."
