One area the Eagles will be looking to address this offseason is wide receiver. They may turn to a familiar face in the free agent market to do that.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Sunday morning that the Eagles are likely to pursue DeSean Jackson this offseason.
Schefter notes that multiple teams believe that Jackson could return to Philadelphia. Jackson spent the first six seasons of his career with the Eagles.
In that time, Jackson had 356 catches for 6,117 yards and 32 touchdowns. His final season with the Eagles was the 2013 season, the Eagles first under Chip Kelly. Jackson posted career-highs in receptions with 82 and yards with 1,332 and tied a career-high with nine touchdowns.
Jackson has spent the last three seasons with the Redskins, picking up 124 catches for 2,282 yards and 13 touchdowns. This season, Jackson has 38 catches for 585 yards and three touchdowns.
Earlier this season, Jackson told the Philadelphia media that he still talks about his time in Philadelphia constantly, and that if the opportunity was there, he would be interested in a return. Doug Pederson was also beginning his coaching career as Jackson started to rise through the ranks, so the Eagles head coach certainly knows what Jackson could bring to his rather weaponless team.
