The first opponent for the defending Super Bowl Champion Eagles is now known, where they, champions, will play host in the NFL Kickoff Game.
According to SportsRadio WIP's Howard Eskin, the Eagles will host the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football, to open the new NFL season. It will be a rematch of the Birds' 38-7 NFC Championship game win over the Vikings just a few months ago.

The Vikings will have a new look at starting quarterback, a guy that knows how to play at Lincoln Financial Field pretty well. Newly acquired QB Kirk Cousins will open his season on the road with Minnesota instead of his long-time Washington Redskins.
Cousins signed a three-year deal worth a guaranteed $84 million, while Case Keenum signed a deal with the Denver Broncos.
Cousins hasn't had the best of luck in his career on weekdays, going 1-8 in those games. So starting the season on a Thursday for the QB doesn't fare well in his recent history.
The Eagles will hope their quarterback Carson Wentz will be ready for Week 1 after a torn ACL sidelined him for the rest of the year, forcing Nick Foles to be the starter for the remainder of the season, ultimately guiding the Eagles to a ring.
