The offseason moves continue for the Philadelphia Eagles, as Howie Roseman made yet another trade on Friday.
Instead of just moving on from wide receiver Torrey Smith, the Birds decided to send him to the Carolina Panthers for cornerback depth in Daryl Worley.
First reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter, and elaborated on by NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the deal will give the Eagles both cap savings and depth at corner.
The #Eagles were planning to move on from WR Torrey Smith… but instead trade him to the #Panthers for CB Daryl Worley, sources said. The deal was done a few days ago, giving Philly cap savings and some CB depth.

Torrey Smith was a great help for the Eagles in winning Super Bowl LII, with 13 receptions, 157 yards and a touchdown in the playoffs. However, the 29-year-old veteran struggled to make an impact in the regular season, the main reason he is so expendable. Smith only caught 36 passes for 430 yards and two touchdowns during the 2017 campaign.
The Eagles will save $4.3 million on their cap by dealing Smith for Worley, according to The MMQB's Albert Breer.
The Eagles will save $4.3 million on their cap in dealing WR Torrey Smith for CB Darryl Worley. And they'll get $3.5 million in savings in DE Michael Bennett taking Vinny Curry's roster spot. So they're building breathing room.

Vinny Curry remains to be an interesting player going forward for the Eagles, considering there were original reports of the team releasing him, but now it seems like Philadelphia will try to find a trading partner for the defensive end, especially after the trade for Pro-Bowl DE Michael Bennett.
Worley is a Philly native, a Penn Charter alum, and was drafted with the 77th overall (3rd round) pick of the 2016 NFL Draft by Carolina. In 15 games last season, Worley had two interceptions and a sack.
Worley will join fellow corners Sidney Jones, Ronald Darby, and Jalen Mills fighting for playing time.
