The Eagles had acquired defensive tackle Tim Jernigan via trade in the off season form the Baltimore Ravens, and his play has left an impression as Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Eagles have signed the former first round pick to a four-year contract extension:

Schefter reports that the deal is worth $48 million and that $26 million is fully guaranteed. Jernigan solidifies the Eagles defensive line with him, Fletcher Cox, Vinny Curry, and Derek Barnett under contract for the foreseeable future.
Jernigan has been a key addition to a defensive line that has helped lead the Eagles leage-leading rushing defense. Jernigan was set to be a free agent this offseason. With Jernigan retained the Eagles will turn their attention to their other pending free agents.
Beau Allen, Nigel Bradham, Alshon Jeffery, LeGarrette Blount, Trey Burton, Najee Goode, Corey Graham are all in the final year of their respective contracts.
