The Eagles are clearly committed to improving at the wide receiver position and are focused on several free agents at the position.
You can add one of the top potential free agents to that list.
The Eagles will make a run at free-agent wide receiver Alshon Jeffery in free agency, according to a report from CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora.
Jeffery is the top wide receiver available on the free agent market this offseason. The Chicago veteran is 6'3" and 216 pounds, which would bring size and speed to the position for the Eagles.
Jeffery had 52 catches for 821 yards and two touchdowns in 2016 for the Bears, playing in 12 games. He played in just nine games in 2015, making 54 catches for 807 yards and four touchdowns. In the two seasons before that, Jeffery posted 1,000-yard receiving seasons, combining for 174 catches for 2,554 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Jeffery is just another veteran free-agent receiver linked to the Eagles this offseason. The team has already been linked to former Eagle DeSean Jackson and Dolphins wide receiver Kenny Stills. Earlier this week, the Eagles were reportedly going to target Washington wide receiver Pierre Garcon and have also been linked to trade talks again for San Francisco receiver Torrey Smith.
Free agency doesn't officially start until March 9, so for now, this is all just talk. But the Eagles are clearly looking over all options as the free agency period approaches in trying to improve at wide receiver.
