Report: Grizzlies asked for Saric in trade with Sixers

By Brandon Apter, Sports Talk Philly editor

The NBA trade deadline has come and gone and the Cleveland Cavaliers stole the show. They pretty much an entirely different roster, trading Isiah Thomas, Jae Crowder and Dwayne Wade among others. On the other side of the coin, the Philadelphia 76ers decided to stand pat at the deadline, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. To this point in the season, the 26-25 Sixers have had one of the most difficult schedules in the NBA. Moving forward, they have one of the easiest.

While adding a depth piece would have been nice, Bryan Colangelo didn't make any dumb moves involving first-round picks in exchange for rental players. In addition, Colangelo didn't make any dumb moves involving pieces of the Sixers' future.

One of the guys Philadelphia had been tracking was Grizzlies guard Tyreke Evans. Memphis ended up unable to find a deal for the Chester, PA native, and now look to potentially resign him. Prior to the deadline though, the Grizzlies declined offers from Boston, Denver and Washington. The Sixers declined an offer from Memphis involving Evans since the Grizzlies were asking for Dario Saric in return. No thanks.

Look for the Sixers to keep an eye out on the buy-out market for a guy who could add depth to their bench.
