Haywood Highsmith Signs Two-Way Deal with Sixers

This past weekend, the Philadelphia 76ers parted ways with two-way guard Demetrius Jacksonwho plans to sign and play in China. With an open two-way slot, the Sixers were known to be high on their G League product, Haywood Highsmith. The undrafted rookie will indeed fill Jackson's spot.

Here's the official word from the Sixers:

Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer was first to report on the signing.

In four years at Wheeling Jesuit, Highsmith averaged 15.4 points and 9.9 rebounds per game while shooting 55.1 percent from the floor and 37.7 percent from beyond the arc. 

Highsmith profiles as a guy that the Sixers have been looking for — a two way perimeter player. In 21 games with the Sixers' G League affiliate this season, he's averaging 13.8 points and 6.9 rebounds, shooting 45 percent from the floor and 39.4 percent from beyond the arc.
