Philadelphia 76ers first round pick, Furkan Korkmaz, will not join the team at all this season according to Jessica Camerato of CSNPhilly.com. He'll remain in Turkey to play with Anadolu Efes, the same team Dario Saric has been playing for since 2014.
At just 18 years of age, Kormaz averaged 2.7 points in 8.8 minutes per game this season with Anadolu Efes, so he needs more time to bulk up and expand his game before potentially joining the Sixers in a couple of years.
The Sixers had three first round picks in this year's NBA Draft and both Ben Simmons and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot have been with the team in Summer League. While we know Simmons is a lock to make the team, Luwawu could be a candidate for a start in the D-League.
Philadelphia matches up against Golden State tonight in Las Vegas Summer League action. Coverage begins at 8:30 on NBA TV.
