There haven't been too many updates from Nerlens Noel after he had surgery at the end of October. Currently, the third-year center is rehabbing in Alabama, but could rejoin the team as early as this week, according to Derek Bodner of Philadelphia Magazine.
Sixers center Nerlens Noel, who underwent surgery to repair an inflamed plica in his left knee on October 25th, is expected to return to the Philadelphia 76ers sometime this week, a source with knowledge of the situation informed Philadelphia magazine.
Bodner goes on to say that the Sixers have had staff check in with Noel a few times since he's had surgery and will resume his rehabilitation once he returns to Philadelphia. He will not be ready to play right away as there is still no timetable for his return. As for the reason he's been in Alabama, Noel has been rehabbing with Kevin Wilk and Champion Sports Medicine, the same group who he was with during recovery from his ACL injury in 2013.
Last season for the Sixers, Noel averaged 11.1 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. On media day, he voiced his displeasure regarding the teams' logjam at center, insisting that "something needs to happen" and how the current situation can't work.
