With bullpen arms Seranthony Dominguez, Victor Arano, Adam Morgan, Pat Neshek, Edubray Ramos, Tommy Hunter and David Robertson all on the injured list, the Philadelphia Phillies have reason for concern with less than 100 games remaining in the regular season.
The club made its first effort to address its taxed bullpen, through an outside addition, late Friday, inking RHP Fernando Salas to a minor-league deal, according to MLBTradeRumors.com's Steve Adams. Salas will report to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Salas, 34, is a nine-year veteran that through 493 career games, has gone a combined 25-28 with a 3.90 ERA and 1.214 WHIP in games while playing for the St. Louis Cardinals (2010-13), Los Angeles Angels (2014-17), New York Mets (2016-17), and Arizona Diamondbacks (2018).
Salas had been pitching this year with the Mexican League's Acereros de Monclova; in 27 games, he went 1-2 with a 4.08 ERA.
The Huatabampo, Mexico, native appeared in three games against the Phillies in the 2011 NLDS; in three appearances and 3 2/3 innings, he allowed one run on two hits, no walks and two strikeouts. In the 2011 World Series, however — in which Salas and the Cardinals won against the Texas Rangers — Salas posted a 7.36 ERA over as many innings pitched.
Salas' 18 career postseason games could come in handy amid a relatively postseason inexperienced Phillies bullpen.
