NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Philadelphia Phillies are interested in signing free agent right-hander Doug Fister, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
Phillies are looking at doug fister. Good buy-low candidate. Philly also needs veteran for rotation.

Fister, 31, was 5-7 with a career-worst ERA and WHIP ratio of 4.19 and 1.398, respectively last season with the Washington Nationals.
The Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers, Fister's former team from 2011-2013, have also been reported to have interest in signing the seven-year veteran so far this offseason.
Fister would provide a needed veteran presence in a young Phillies rotation, whose oldest player is currently 28-year-old right-hander Jeremy Hellickson. Right-handers Aaron Nola and Jerad Eickoff, as well as southpaw Adam Morgan, would fill out the three remaining spots.
