While the Philadelphia Phillies lost out on the Baltimore Orioles' Manny Machado, Zach Britton and Adam Jones, the club did acquire New York Mets' infielder Asdrubal Cabrera in exchange for 10th-ranked prospect RHP Franklyn Kilome.
It appears despite landing Cabrera, the club remains active in the market with just over 30 hours remaining until the non-waiver trade deadline. The Phillies are among four teams that are "in on practically every reliever available," according to MLB Network Radio's Jim Bowden late Sunday night.
Bowden lists 12 relievers, three of which are left-handed, in which the Phillies could be targeting: Adam Conley, Blake Parker, Brad Ziegler, Bud Norris, Craig Stammen, Fernando Rodney, Jake Diekman, Keone Kela, Kirby Yates, Kyle Barraclough, Sergio Romo and Tyler Clippard.
This season, the Phillies bullpen has posted the 11th-best K/9 (9.37), 17th-highest BB/9 (3.44), 12th-highest HR/9 (1.05), the ninth-best WAR (3.4), and the 13th-best ERA (3.91).
The other teams Bowden mentioned are the Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners. The Phillies open a two-game road set against the 74-win Red Sox Monday evening behind All-Star RHP Aaron Nola.
